"Climate change" means a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods
"Biological diversity" means the variability among living organisms from all sources including, inter alia, terrestrial, marine and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part; this includes diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems
“Desertification” means land degradation in arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid areas resulting from various factors, including climatic variations and human activities
Occupied endangered species in Georgia need special protection and conservation measures. Such species are included in the "Red List" of Georgia, including: Plant 56, mammals 29, birds 35, reptiles 11, amphibians 2 ,11 fish and 42 species of invertebrates.
